Wednesday 7th January

On the first day back from christmas, we had bishop chanaler come to visit us for a day of fun filled media work. We had vistors come in from professional filming companies, as well as a professional actors, who had partaken in episodes of The Bill and is currently in Guy Richies new filmand they did differant work shops with us, to develop our media skills. It was hard for me as when he was asking what we wanted to do when we grow up, all i could think was to play basketball, but the day actually made me realise that actualy getting a job within the media wouldnt be such a bad career. We learned lost of different skills, including acting techniques and different ways in which to capture the action shots. The day consisited of getting acquainted with each other, and mixing the groups, we did an experiment in which we tried to tell who had a higher playing card by the tone of our voice, the experiment worked out pretty well although their was some cheating along the way. Then we did some filming and acting on a script from the bill. I played an actor and thought i did a pretty good performance. Thier was also a nominated director, a camera man, an assitant to the director and then 4 actors in which i was one, we did a great job and our film looked very succesfull. That went on for a couple of hours, getting differant shots of the action, and finally getting the mastershot of it all. Last of all we had a Q + A session which was good as it gave people the chance to ask questions in how to get into the media, which i kinda regret not asking how to get into the sport side of the media. Overall it was a enjoyalble day and will be good editing out film in the lesson.
