Monday 15th December
Today, we first had another group meeting, which included our teacher, so we could discuss our title sequence, what was good about it? how it attracts to the audience? and how we feel it gives the audience that description of what our soap is like. We talked about that and then finished that off, with an evaluation. After that we discussed a few ieas for our script and quickly jotted down a few notes. We then started to write our final script which sounded really good and could turn out to be a very succesfull soap. Our reasearch is almost completley finished, we have a presentation to finish for wednesday which is nearly completed as we have decided to choose channel 4 to present our soap, which we explain why in our presentation

December 10th 2008
In Todays lessons we first had a meeting with our teacher to show we had discussed what we could have changed on our presentation? what went well? and what we feel we could have improved on? After that we discussed what we was aiming to finish by the end of the lessons and what would be a realstic target to get finished. We cracked on finishing off our final characters and then started out storyboarding for our title sequence. It was pretty funny as none of us can draw in the group but we gave it out best shot and got it finished by the end of the lesson. We had some good ideas for the title sequence and i feel when it is all put together it will look very good.

Our Soap Presentation :)
Our soap presentation was a great success, alot of credit must go to Hollie, who put the presentation together, with the help of all our gatherd information and key points, themes and issues etc. We decided to concentrate mostly on our characters and themes and issues so we could get across what sort of characters are going to be in our soap, and what sort of storylines they could possibly be involved with, also we wanted to sort of leave it on a cliffhanger so the auidence would be wanting to know more about our soap. If we could do anything differantly i think we could have included a few more older charcters so it was not so much of a young cast, we have now thought included an early 30's music teacher which has a role to play in the soap which should help give the effect of not just a hollyoaks type soap, but some aspects of other soaps.

3rd December 2008
Today, in our first lesson we carried on our research with channels, and i completed it all by finishing of channel 4 and 5. Now we have a solid base to figure out which channel is the best to place our soap on. After that we had another group meeting to decide what our plan was for the lesson and what we aim to get finished by the end of the day. We carried on with character profiles added more information and even gather some characters for each role. They then got typed up and finished. The story-lines were the next task to be tackled, we all came up with more ideas and also expanded on the ideas we already had. After this we developed a good, detailed story-line, typed it up and printed it off. Also we came up for a name for our soap which is called Woodlands and our company is called Creativ INC. We still need to get some more people to play roles of the characters and also finish off the presentation, but we did alot in the day and are way ahead of schedule.

1st December 2008
Today, we had another group meeting this morning and found out we was ahead of schedule in our project, we then came up with ideas for our storyline, and also character profiles which were just basic to start with as we plan to go into more detail once we have an understanding of who we are going to use in our soap. We created a few storylines and one which sounded good that we may use in our actually soap, with a bit more thought and effort we could make a really good piece. Then in the last lesson we carried on with our research on differant channels and i compelted the information on Channel 4, leaving on Channel 5 to be completed before we choose which channel is the best to put our soap on.

Thursday 27th November
In todays lesson i completed my research for ITV so i can move on to channel 4 when we come back after the weekend. We also thought up a few story-lines for our soap so we could have different ideas and different types for our soap opera. All of our research is near enough completed, as after we have finished the audience stuff, we can move onto character profiles and develop more detail into our story-lines.

Wednesday 26th November
In todays lessons, we managed to get alot of our main research done for our project. We had another group meeting this morning to discuss what we was going to do in the 4 lessons we had. We were each set differant tasks at the start of the lessons to do with the codes and conventions of soap, i concentrated my research on the themes and issues delt with in soaps, and had it finished by the end of 3rd lesson, Hollie did the setting, which she also finsihed by around the same time. Keeley did the narrative and Sofia worked on the characeters.
I also finished my research for BBC Two and ITV 1 which means i have two more channels left to research before i make a decsion on the best channel to put our soap on.

Project Diary
24th November
In todays lesson which consisted of 3 hours, we were first given verbal guidance on which is the best way to set out our plan, so we could crack on with it.
We got into our groups and Me Hollie, Keeley and Sofia came up with our project plans and developed dates which were suitable for when the tasks should be finished by. We found it difficult at first to get our heads round what we had to include, how much time we should spend on each task and also what our plan should consist of. We had a rough plan by the end that we will copy up and hand in by Wednesday 26th November. We carried on with our research of different channels with Miss Barnett, and i near enough have finished BBC One and Two, just need to add pictures to my work on BBC Two and it is finished. I feel my work so far is going well, and i am concentrating more on what i need to do before i can even touch a camera.

Soap Opera
We did a very interesting project of the History of British Soap, which included how the name soap opera came about? what are the oldest soaps and how they have involved in the new century.
We gained valuable information on all aspects of soaps, like
- Coronation street
- Eastenders
- Emmerdale
- Hollyoaks
- The Archers
We then designed a timeline on how british soap opera came about and how it has involved. This would end up being a key piece of work, and a great help for when we moved onto making our own programme called So you think you know British TV.
We worked in pairs and got valuable experience using cameras for filming, creating project plans, storyboards and even editing our own films. We came up with out own ideas, filmed in our own time and wherever we felt was suitable for our project. Then after all the editing and even including background music and using differant camera shots to make our programme more effective, we showed our programme to the group.
